Laparoscopic Partial Cecal Resection With an Endoscopic Linear Stapler in Complicated Appendicitis: A Single Center Experiences

Introduction It can be challenging to perform an appendectomy laparoscopically in patients with complicated appendicitis severe inflammation or perforation of the appendix base. This study aimed introduce a simple alternative surgical treatment that used safely difficult cases. Case presentation We retrospectively reviewed medical records 14 who underwent laparoscopic partial resection cecum linear stapler between January 2015 and December 2016 our hospital. Fourteen were included this study, no complications observed. Enteral feeding was resumed on third fourth postoperative day, average length hospital stay 7.6 days (range, 5 12 days). Conclusion The results suggest cecal endostapler is safe, procedure good appendicitis.
